Sibi’s thrilling border tales
Looks like the team of Sibi Sathyaraj’s Ranga, directed by Vinod DL, has left no stone unturned to ensure their action thriller makes the right impression with the audience. Even if it required Sibi and the lead actress Nikhila Vimal to roll down a snow-capped mountain near the Indo-Pak border in Kashmir.
Vinod says, “We were shooting in Kashmir in April and the weather was quite unpredictable.

It would be sunny one minute and the sky would get overcast the next instant. In fact, our schedule got delayed by a few days because half of us were stranded on the road, thanks to an avalanche. We had shot an important action sequence there, and it required Sibi and Nikhila to roll down the mountains. It was near the Indo-Pak border, and we had obtained the required permission beforehand. But shooting the scene was quite an experience because we were cautious about the location; filming so close to the border was very thrilling. But we finished the schedule without any hitch because of the co-operation from local people.”
The director says that the film is inspired by an article that he read in the newspaper. “The story is about a Tamil-speaking couple who get stranded in a Hindi-speaking region. That’s why the font of the title in the first-look poster is a mix of both the languages,” he reveals.
